Can somebody please list a good amount of negatives about the PS2? I am currently having an arguement with some mates about Gamecube and PS2. I have already pointed out a couple of negatives, but need more ;)

Thanks for your help :)

Let me get this straight...
You want people to explain you how to bash a system because you can't think of your own reasons?

Anyways, there are little negatives if you ask me
What negatives did you come up with on your own?

Why don't you go play the system so you can actually form your own opinions of the system instead of just following what somebody else tells you about it :D

Ok, I guess I will do that :D

Have you played it yet? ;)

Well uh... There're only 2 controller ports... But do like shocktroop said, play it for yourself instead of listening to us.

The PS2...... uh...... well, hm....... nope............. it's harder to develop for? Which of course makes no difference to me, being the consumer. ;)

1. You have to look down? What the...? The X and Y buttons on the GC are the same size, do you look down all the time for those?

2. They are?

Actually it does.

Until games are delivered by Storks, there'll always be a developer behind them. Now if a developer has to spend more resources than necessary to create a game, there are more than a few drawbacks to you, the consumer.

#1 Less time on gameplay, more time rastlin' with the hardware
#2 More money spent on one game, can reduce overall games from a publisher
#3 More time spent on development, longer waits are no fun

Even if you don't own a PS2 your still affected. EA being EA, first makes their games on PS2, then using the same engine make poor ports to other consoles. Unless they apply extra resources to development of the PS2 engine, your gonna get a game on GameCube/Xbox that's hardly pushing the system, etc, etc.

Less time on GamePlay? Are the developers suppost to be playing the system instead of programming it?? :D j/k.

Game Play is a concept, once you develop that concept you have to translate it to the hardware. Even if the hardware is easy to develop for, it can be hard to translate a gameplay concept. Being easy to develop for does help though...

#2 More money spent on one game, can reduce overall games from a publisher

Yeah, but do you see how many publishers this system has? I dont think PS2 is going to be running short on game supply any time soon...

#3 More time spent on development, longer waits are no fun

Yeah, and we all know that Nintendo never delays games.
