"E3 has now come and gone, and we got a great look at what's to come at launch this fall, but what might Microsoft have up their sleeves that they didn't feature during E3?"

"Sorry, that was it. You've seen it all. NOT. We have 45 first party Xbox projects in full production around the world today and about 20 more in discussion of which we've talked about maybe a dozen publicly. If you liked what you heard about Peter Molyneaux's Project Ego, wait til you see the other game we are developing with him. We announced a Bruce Lee game but you haven't seen it yet. We announced our relationship with Steven Spielberg and his upcoming movie AI but you haven't seen those games yet. We announced we are working exclusively with Tim Schafer, creator of Grim Fandango. His project is going to blow your mind. We are working with Larry Holland (Xwing-vs-Tie Fighter). You've only seen one of the Bungie games. You haven't seen anything based on our Madness franchise yet, anything based on Mechwarrior, Crimson Skies, etc etc. I could go on and on but the marketing group would shoot me. You have only seen the very tip of the iceberg, and of course I'm only talking first party here."

also

The longer term projects that I'm most excited about are the ones I can talk the least about. Games that fully exploit the capabilities of the Xbox. The hard drive, and online, to take gaming places that just haven't been possible before. I said at Gamestock earlier this year that "our goal should be to create not just entertainment, but art" and I really believe that."

other great stuff

"Will part of Microsoft's marketing be devoted to commercials solely for the games? Will the games have their own marketing campaigns?"

"Almost all of our TV advertising will be devoted to specific games, not generically to the platform. I got to see a very early version of a Halo TV commercial the other day and even in its rough form it totally rocked. It was 95% footage from the actual game and it looked great."

and on the hole gamecube ships 3 days before xbox thing

"Nintendo has announced the possible launch date for the GameCube only 3 days before the Xbox launch, how do you this will affect the Xbox's launch, if at all?"

"I think both consoles will sell every unit they can manufacture between launch and Christmas so it doesn't matter at all who ships first. One thing some people missed is that Nintendo announced the date they will ship to stores and we announced the date we will be in stores, so actually our launches are virtually simultaneous. It's going to be a crazy Christmas

I remember hearing all this before at one point. Oh yeah it was five years ago right before the Atari Jaguar launched. That thing was hyped to no end, and if I remember correctly it boasted 64 bits of shear power. THe only problem was the graphics looked worse than playstations. Hmm if I compare those most recent Halo pics to Metal Gear Solid 2s I think Halo looks worse in graphic quality. Oh well I would'nt believe a word those Microsoft guys spew out.

J. Allard - by 2005 we expect to have sold 100 million Xboxs worldwide.

That Allard is a class act is'nt he?

What's to say they wont, eh? It is VERY VERY possible that that many will be sold. Probably not that many in the first 2 years, but as people see them at friends houses, play em a bit, they start to like a system and go out and buy one. The # predicted could get reached, and maybe this X-BOX will be like the PS1 was: Thought as a major rip off peice of shiznit, but later sold billions and Sony was made an even richer company.

(Damn Bill Gates, fricken stealing all our money :) )

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahah
gaddmnit that sux give it up, the X-Box sux
Either your standards are a little too high, or you're just flat out biased.

HALO has "rough edges"(yet again, I want you to show me a game with ABSOLUTELY NO ROUGH EDGES, approx01) because of its open, spacious enviroments. You cant have all of that going on at once, and expect to have these perfectly rounded out character models/weapons/etc....

Technology hasn't quite reached that point yet, approx01. I dont see why you're complaining about the rough edges so much.

Thats actually a very good question. This is a site devoted to the Gamecube. So, naturally, there are going to be a lot of trash talk going on in the forums that have nothing to do with the GC.

Admins: I know you meant well, but you should just get rid of the Xbox, PS2, and DC forums and just make a Console Wars/Debate forum. There may be a couple of people here who support other systems besides the GC, but the pro-GC people GREATLY outnumber them.

I think it'll cut down the number of complaints from some of the rabid Xbox fans that are annoying you guys, and it'll just seem... Right... To me, anyways. :D

any ways there is no pic that doesn't have a rough edge, but the x-box's pics are very rough!!!!
I dont see much of a difference in the "roughness" between most Xbox games and most GC games. Really, it all depends on the developers style, and the type of game. For example: Luigi's Mansion has closed in spaces with few characters on screen at once. Thats why the polygon counts for the character models are higher. HALO's character models and such look kind of rough because of the all the stuff being rendered on screen at once. Lots of characters, lots of trees, lots of explosions going on.

But anyways, try looking at the whole picture, approx01. All the stuff going on in the background. Dont center in on just the two or three people in the front, look at everything else. THATS the great thing about HALO's graphics. :)

goddamn what a dumb ass all mr X-BOX light son of a bitch
Hey, partner. Calm down. You no flame, I no flame. Deal? ;) Lets keep this conversation civilized.
